SPIRITUALLY MINDED
Scripture Reading - Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. KJV
It is important for us, as believers, to keep our mind (which is comprised of our thoughts) on the spiritual facts of God’s Word. Yes, the word “facts” was used because so many people think on false information. In this world people are always speculating about what could happen. These same people have a tendency to imagine the worst case scenario. This means they are constantly thinking on the negative circumstances of life, which is being carnal minded. They also look to the natural solutions of men apart from the Life of God which is the reasoning of the carnal mind. This negative thought process is generated from the spirit of death and the only remedy to this counter-productive influence is the positive persuasion of God’s Word. The Word of God is also known as the Word of truth based upon the reality of God. If you know God’s Word and believe in Him completely you will have no problem referring to God’s Promises as fact because you know that God can not lie. However, if you do not have an intimate relationship with God through consistent fellowship in His Word you will consider what you see around you as the facts of life. No, my faith friend, the true facts of life are the facts of His Life which He graciously gave to us. It is through the eternal Life giving Spirit of Christ that we inherit the mind of God. This mind of Christ is the exact same thing as the Mind of Jesus, which are the thoughts of God. Having God’s thoughts based upon His Word gives you the proper attitude to believe God whole-heartedly because you know His Will (His Word) for your life. When we keep our mind upon the blessings of God inside the Life of Christ it makes available to us whatsoever we need. We must concentrate on speaking our desires from God’s Word with corresponding actions (and attitude). This wisdom of God’s Word includes revelation, healing, perception, and many other attributes of God. An outstanding attribute of God that is included in being spiritually minded is God’s Peace. Experiencing the Life of God through His Presence guarantees us this Peace of God. There is nothing like knowing that God is on your side and no matter what comes against you or whoever tries to hurt you. God is walking with us through all the good and bad times we experience on this earth. Remember keeping your mind on Him by the facts (truths) presented in God’s Word is being “spiritually minded” which is necessary to keep you in His Life experiencing His Peace. Amen!
